Michelle van Sittert

Assistant Librarian

Michelle is a recent addition to the SSCM team and has already made a difference to the services offered in the Grogan Library by working on projects to improve the quality of the library catalogue. Originally from South Africa and having spent time in Zimbabwe, Michelle is a military wife, mother of 2 and a keen crafter.


Alastair Fraser

Library/ Archive Assistant

Alastair has been volunteering with SSCM for 8 years and has made invaluable contributions to a few library relocations. More recently he has been working on the digitisation of dissertations and the archive collection. His other main role is acting as a confidant for the Librarian. Originally from Glasgow, Alastair is married to Rebecca, a grandfather to 10 and attends Chryston Parish Church.


John Jeacocke

Database administrator (Historical) and GDPR

John has been volunteering with GBC-ICC-SSCM since the mid-90s, serving on committees, proofreading and doing IT support on various databases. He still does some of that and is currently working on data protection for the new GDPR. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the library. John lectured in computing science at the University of Glasgow, retired in 2001, was widowed in 2015, and has been an Anglican, a Brother, a Baptist and is now C of S.
