How is my qualification funded?
As a partner with Nazarene Theological College, all Scottish School of Christian Mission undergraduate and postgraduate students are registered through them and pay tuition fees directly to them as appropriate. Through this arrangement, Scottish-domiciled undergraduate students become eligible for student loans for both fees and maintenance.
The Nazarene Theological College website contains information about finance (including the level of student fees) and information about tuition fee loans from SAAS (the Student Awards Agency Scotland) and the Student Loans Company that may be helpful. The SAAS website also has some helpful information for students in Scotland registering to study at a college based in England, both for full-time and part-time options.
To learn more, go to apply now and fill in the 'Intent To Study' enquiry form. We'll then contact you to discuss all your questions. Alternatively, check the Frequently asked questions page, or simply get in contact. We are happy to give advice and guidance to prospective students on these matters.
In brief, student fees for 2017/18 are as follows:
- BA(Hons) in Theology (Youth and Community) and Certificate in Theology (Pioneer Ministry). Tuition fees £6000 per year full-time, plus £600 per year registration fee with Manchester University. Tuition fee loans are available from SAAS for these programmes, with additional loans available for maintenance costs during your study.
For those ineligible for SAAS funding, a bursary of £1200 (equal to 20% of tuition fees) will be provided to students on the Certificate in Theology (Pioneer Ministry) programme.
- HNC in Working with Communities and HNC in Childhood Practice. Tuition fees of £2400. We hope that in due course these qualifications will be eligible for a part-time fee grant from SAAS. Until that time, we will provide a bursary of £1200, equal to 50% of the tuition fees.
- PDA in Youth Work. Tuition fees of £900. We will provide a bursary of £300 towards these fees.
- MA in Theology (Urban Mission) and MA in Theology (Transforming Leadership). Tuition fees of £4900. We will provide a bursary of £980, equal to 20% of these fees, to Scottish-domiciled students who make their initial enquiry through this website.
