Celtic Conference in Youth Ministry

Celtic Youth Ministry

The International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry (IASYM) supports¬†the professionalisation of youth ministry around the world. ¬†As part of a localised ‘Celtic’ grouping of these, we are part of the organising group for what is known as a Celtic Colloquium (a conference at which scholars or other experts present papers on, analyze, and discuss a specific topic) around the issues that affect youth ministry in Scotland and Ireland.

The conference will take place on the 9th & 10th September in Belfast and to find out more you can check out our Facebook group.

Subjects under discussion include:

  • Youth Work as a form of Economic resistance
  • Do large scale youth events help or hinder youth ministry?
  • How does youth ministry respond to those outside the Church?
  • Storytelling, Ethics and Jesus
  • Is there a need for apologetics in youth ministry?
  • How does social networking affect how young people build community?
